Travel by Car
New motorway links have made driving to the French Alps quite an attractive proposition over the last few years. The journey takes 8 to 12 hours from Calais depending on how observant of the autoroute speed limits you are.
Tip: the Gendarmes are much more active north of Paris.
Once south of Paris, you will be lucky to see a police car, let alone get a ticket for speeding and if you sit at 70 mph, you will be one of the slowest cars on the road.
Apart from the cost of the ferry or tunnel, you should allow about £60-£80 in petrol and £30 in tolls each way to/from Calais.
You should find your way to Albertville fairly easily, from there take the N90 to Moutiers.
At Moutiers stay on the N90 toward Bourg St Maurice, you need to turn off this road about 7km before Bourg.
The turning is on your right and is sign posted to Landry, this road is the D87E. Follow this road up the hill, you will come to the village of Peisey Nancroix after about 15min.

Drive through the village and follow the road for another 5 min (do not turn of this road at the junction for Vallandry), you should soon see the Nancroix sign.
Our chalet is located 200m up and on the left from the Nancroix Village sign.
The sign for "Chalet Les Sapins" is on your left, on the opposite side of the road from our parking area.
The chalet is the right hand building which is at the top of the steps which are located to the left of the sign.
